Q: So you're changing game times based on where I play?
A: One of our main complaints is that our games don't play at times that are convenient for our players. So we set out to make sure that the right crowd sees the right games when they're at the bar! One of the things we are doing to help this problem is to divide the Buzztime Nation into groups (referred to as "Networks") to help with air times in the different time zones:
- East: Central, Eastern and Atlantic Time Zones
- West: Hawaii, Alaska, Pacific and Mountain Time Zones
This will provide much more convenient game times to everyone across the US and Canada!
Q: Why did we split the Buzztime Nation into East and West Networks?
Splitting the Buzztime Nation into East and West Networks gives Buzztime players across the US and Canada the ability to play their favorite games at better times. Now players in the West don't have to worry about missing Glory Daze because they don't get off work early enough, and players in the East don't have to wait until 10pm on Friday to playTrendalicious Trivia.It's a win-win!
Q: But I love playing against the rest of the nation in real-time. Can I still do that?
A: Yes, you can! The split into East and West really only affects our premium "primetime" games.Most other games will still only have one nation-wide feed, so you will still be playing against all of the Buzztime Nation during the times when that game is playing across the nation.
Q: What time will the premium games air in each Network?
A: Buzztime's premium games will now be at a better primetime hour for everyone! Your favorite games will now run from
- East: 7:30pm ET/6:30pm CT - 9:30pm ET/8:30pm CT
- West: 7:30pm MT/6:30pm PT - 9:30pm MT/8:30pm PT
Premium content for Canada will begin one hour earlier Tuesday through Friday.
Q: How will this affect my Network Rankings?
A: Both the East and West will have their own independent Network Ranking. You will only be competing against other people playing it live in either the East or West (wherever you are playing), but you can still log in online to compare your scores to everyone who played across the US and Canada.
Q: So then how do I earn Medals and Top 100s?
A: The way to earn Medals and Top 100s will change slightly:
- Network Top 100 (formerly National Top 100) - The number of top 100 finishes for a trivia game with at least 300 players.
- Gold Medals - First place network finishes with at least 300 players in the game.
- Silver Medals -Second place network finishes with at least 300 players in the game.
- Bronze Medals - Third place network finishes with at least 300 players in the game.
Q: What about cheaters?
A: We've taken into consideration that people might try to cheat, and have taken precautions to thwart that behavior. In addition to these new precautions, we do not condone cheating and may delete your account in its entirety, without prior notice, if you decide to cheat.
Q: So you're only adding one new game? What gives?
A: We know that you all are anxious for other new games to hit our Network. We've gotten a lot of feedback about bringing back some of our older games as well. The truth is that we can only create so much stuff at one time! We've been listening closely to you all and will work to roll out new games as time goes on.
Q: What is this "The Late Shift" trivia game you speak of?
A: The Late Shift is a 15-minute, 10-question game (Wipeout format) that will play from 10pm 'till closing time every night. Kind of like Buzztime Trivia's alter ego! The game will be slightly easier and a bit heavier on pop culture than the original Buzztime Trivia game.
Q: Showdown is 15 minutes shorter, what did you do to it?
A: We recently shortened our Showdown game by 15 minutes to make it one hour long. To do this we removed every other "round scoreboard". These are the scoreboards that appear after every question of the game. No other changes were made. We tried this out in Canada and the response from our player poll was extremely positive.
Q: Will there be any more game changes that I might notice?
A: Yes. Lunchtime Trivia, Countdown, Blackjack and Texas Hold 'Em will all get a face-lift, while Buzztime itself will also get a new look. We'll also remove some of the pop-culture from Countdown so it appeals to our more serious afternoon audience.
Q: Which games go with which daypart?
A:
- Lunchtime: Lunchtime Trivia will be business as usual… but on an extended lunch break. Now you can get your bite-sized trivia from 11am to 2pm local time.
- Afternoon: Countdown will dominate the afternoon with back-to-back games from 2pm local time until the "primetime" games begin (or all the way into the evening when a "primetime" game is not on.
- Primetime: This is when all of our premium games hit the airwaves! During this chunk of time you'll see Glory Daze, Sports IQ, Showdown, Sci Files, SIX, BrainBuster, Pastimes, Lexitopia, Topix, Spotlight, Trendalicious Trivia, Immortal Words, Playback, Tuned In andSpeed Freaks. If you're playing in Canada you'll also see Canada, Eh? and Showdown Canada.
- Late Night: If you like to close down your local watering hole you'll be seeing The Late Shift from 10pm until closing every night!

Q: I didn't see a "Sports Network" on the new schedule. Where'd it go?
A: In an effort to make programming easier for our locations, we are going to say good-bye to the Sports Channel.
Q: So, how will my location be able to play QBI, Pick 'Em Pro Football and other Buzztime Sports games?
A: Glad you asked! All of Buzztime's games will live on two channels: "Buzztime 1" and "Buzztime 2". All of the sports programming will be moved to one of these channels. To see where you will be able to play your favorite games check out our new schedule. Our schedules will be updated as time goes on to accommodate for seasonal games.
Q: What will be on Buzztime 1 and Buzztime 2?

- Buzztime 1: This is where you'll get your trivia fix!
- Buzztime 2: Here you can satisfy your need for Texas Hold 'Em, Blackjack and Sports Trivia, which will all be options in every half hour time slot. If you live in a non-casino state, Buzztime 2 will be your place for Sports Trivia.
Q: If my location is playing something I don't want to play, how do I change the channel?
A: If you want to play a game that is not currently running (for example you would like to play a card game but only trivia is on the TVs) just ask your server! The management at your location will be able to help you. If they are unsure of how to change the channel, or game, they can call us at 1-800-745-4686 and we can walk them through it.
