Dear Valentine, I Love You… But I’m Still Not Gonna Let You Win!

To support this theory, here is a little anecdote: While perusing Cosmopolitan Magazine a few weeks ago, one of our game producers was pleasantly surprised to see that, according to the "things to do with your honey" editor, a night out playing trivia makes for a great Valentine's Day date... seriously, it was right there in black and white. In a world where the normal Valentine's "blow-her-socks-off" plans include anything from trips to Europe to matching tattoos, it's nice to see that some people still simply enjoy spending time together while showing off their brains in their favorite local watering hole.

Think trivia isn't romantic enough? We beg to differ... in the 25 years we've been in business, we've received countless e-mails from couples who met while playing trivia, glorifying the fact that playing and competing with each other offered insight into their partner that they may not have had otherwise. How do they handle pressure? What are thier interests? How do your strengths complement each other? If they let you win, they may be more likely to back down in an argument; if they don't let you win... well, that can mean they're fiesty or stubborn -- either way, they're bound to keep you on your toes!

Couples who play as a team celebrate each other's strengths: he rules the sports category and she schools the bar in music... and c'mon, what's more romatic than teaming up with your partner and tasting victory together?

So, when Sunday rolls around and you're still trying to come up with "the perfect plan," give a night of trivia a second thought... and use it to learn about each other!
