Music in 2010 might be summed up in two words: Bieber and Beatles. The cast of Glee, Kei$ha and Kate Perry dominated in a big way. Recent fan favorites like Usher, Rihanna and Eminem made big returns. AC/DC, Jay-Z, U2 and Dave Matthews Band socked it out for the highest grossing concerts tours. 2010 was a big year for news. Our emotions were sent on a roller coaster. We watched with our hearts in our stomachs as 33 Chilean miners were rescued. We poured out our support for Haiti after a devastating earthquake. Many or most of us were shocked when the House of Mouse (Disney) bought the House of M (Marvel). Finally it appears we are ending the year with the news that the world will be treated to a proper royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton This was also a year filled with a few shocking moments. Some of our favorite celebrity couples split, we lost some beloved stars and we saw hundreds of classified documents spill on to the internet. Not to mention Lady Gaga wore a Meat Dress! What was that? Finally you can’t end 2010 without a few key trends. Between the unveiling of the iPad and the explosive growth of Android phones, our gadgets had the best of us. Television was probably best summed up in one word “Lost”. New favorites like “Glee” reminded us of high school and resurrected a few favorite songs from our back catalogues. Check out the schedule 2010 was a year that many might call divisive. We can’t always agree on our favorite television show or what movie was best, we might not all agree on what the must see concert was, and let’s not dwell on politics… But I think we can all agree that it seemed to fade away when we walked into our favorite watering hole, picked up a simple blue Playmaker (or logged on with iPhone) and shared a moment proving that once again in 2010 Buzztime players are the smartest bunch of people. Let’s keep that trend up in 2011. Comments (0) Share this page! |

Let’s start with another chart topping year at the movies. Topping the list of the highest grossing films of the year, we say goodbye to the Pixar character from Toy Story. Comic books continued to dominate at the theaters as movies like Iron Man 2 rocked audiences, whilst sleeper hits (pun intended) like Inception rocked theaters. The Twilight Saga and Harry Potter called many fans to midnight showings.
