BuzzSpeak Lesson #4

In part 1, part 2 and part 3 of BuzzSpeak we went over some of the words you might hear at a Buzztime location: Lone Wolf, Precall, Buzzie, and wet nap to name a few. In this edition of Buzzspeak we will go over what to call some specific people based on their behavior and also help you define some situations you might find yourself in during a Buzztime game at the bar.

Sandbagger: (n.) A Buzztime player that refuses to share answers in order to outscore his/her teammates

Alt: Captain Nemo - Similar to sandbagger, as one player comes up from the depths to take the lead by "guessing" the right answer.

Related: Throw Them in the Pond - which is what happens to Sandbaggers who persist in their skullduggery ways even after polite explanation of bar etiquette

YO-YO - in a team setting, when no one has a clue, as in You're On Your Own

Additional Info: Nth Degree produces the most YO-YO moments.

WAG - 'What a Guess', usually a lucky hit with no clue.

Alt: HAG - 'Hell of a guess'.

Related: "WAG" can also be used as a verb, as in "I wasn't sandbagging you on the Paris Hilton question, I just wagged it!") … sure Captain Nemo.
