Jeff Berg was appointed a Director in August 2008 and became Chairman in November 2008. He is currently Chairman of and lead investor in Surfline/Wavetrak Inc., a digital media business. In 1999, he co-founded Swell, a direct marketer of surf apparel and accessories, which was sold to Billabong in 2009. He is also Chief Investment Officer of Matador Capital Partners LP. Between 1995 and 2000, Mr. Berg was Chairman of AccentHealth, a network that provide segmented, patient education-oriented TV programming to over 10,000 medical waiting rooms. Mr. Berg has over 20 years experience as a professional investor, having founded Matador Capital Management in 1993, and before that working for 9 years at Raymond James Financial as an institutional securities analyst.
Mary Beth Lewis was appointed a Director in February, 2009. She most recently held the position of Chief Financial Officer of Fresh Produce Sportswear, Inc., a women's apparel company, from 2007 to 2009. During 2006 and 2007 she was an accounting instructor in the Colorado State University College of Business. From 2001 to 2005 Ms. Lewis was employed by Noodles and Company, a restaurant chain, where she held, among other positions, the role of Chief Financial Officer. Prior to that, she was the Chief Financial Officer of Wild Oats Markets, Inc, a national grocery store chain. Ms. Lewis currently serves on the Board of Directors for eBags, Inc., an online retailer of bags and accessories, where she also serves as the Audit Committee Chair. Ms. Lewis holds two undergraduate degrees from West Virginia University: a BA in Psychology and a BS in Speech Pathology and Audiology. Ms. Lewis also holds an M.B.A. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Pittsburgh
Michael J. Bush was appointed Chief Executive Officer in April 2010 bringing more than 23 years of successfully executing business growth strategies and building sustainable shareholder value to NTN Buzztime. Prior to joining Buzztime, Michael was President and CEO of 3 Day Blinds, Inc. where he was credited with leading the business through the recent housing crisis and stabilizing its finances. Michael also served as President and Chief Executive at Anchor Blue Retail Group and Dockers' Outlets by MOST. In addition, he participated as an investor with Sun Capital Partners in the November 2003 buyout of Anchor Blue by American Retail Group, Inc. Before Anchor Blue, Michael was President and Chief Executive of Bally North America, a member of the Board of Directors of Bally International AG and Senior Vice President of Global Re-engineering. During his time at Bally, Michael was instrumental in restructuring the global operations as part of a massive turnaround plan. While working on global re-engineering, he also managed the North American operations for Bally which included wholesale, retail, distribution and merchandising operations. Preceding his time at Bally, Michael was Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Movado Group, Inc., joining Movado from Ross Stores where he served as Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning, Business Development and Marketing. He began his career at Bain & Company in San Francisco where he worked for six years primarily focusing on retail and consumer goods companies. Michael J. Bush currently sits on the Board of Directors at Buzztime as well as Ross Stores. He was recently elected to the board of the Digital Place-based Advertising Association (DPAA) and also serves on the Board of the global development not-for-profit agency, Technoserve. Michael is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is physically active in a number of sports including cycling, skiing and golf. He and his family live in Corona del Mar, California.
Terry Bateman was appointed as Director of the Board in November, 2008. Mr. Bateman served as CEO of NTN Buzztime, Inc. from February 1, 2009 to March 2010. Since May 2010, Mr. Bateman has been serving as the Chairman of PEP Direct and Brickmill Marketing Services, whose parent company, Quadriga Art, recently merged with Direct Mail Holdings to form QDMH, a direct marketing Company, and for which, Mr. Bateman currently serves as its President. He was also the CEO of Dick Clark Productions from June 2007 to February 2008. In 2006 he served as Chief Marketing Officer of the Washington Redskins. From 1998 to 2006, Mr. Bateman served as President and CEO of Barton Cotton. He was President of Snyder Communications' Marketing Services Division between 1994 and 1997. Mr. Bateman was Executive Vice President, Vice President and Director of Whittle Communications between 1981 and 1994, having begun his career in marketing with The Gillette Company between 1979 and 1981. Mr. Bateman holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Tennessee. His board memberships have included Dick Clark Productions, Johnny Rockets and Red Zebra Broadcasting.
Steve Mitgang was appointed a Director of the Board in August, 2010. He also serves on the Board of MapMyFitness, Inc., an online business featuring fitness-oriented social networks and training applications. From 2007 to 2009 Mr. Mitgang was the president and CEO of Veoh Networks, an Internet Television company. Prior to his tenure at Veoh Networks, Mr. Mitgang worked at Yahoo! from 2003 to 2007. Mr. Mitgang joined Yahoo! after its acquisition of Overture Services, where he was the head of the Performance Marketing group. From 2001 to 2003 Mr. Mitgang was president and CEO of Keylime Software, a web analytics company that was acquired by Overture Services during Mr. Mitgang's leadership. Mr Mitgang holds a degree in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.
